Configure your preferences for receiving payments
When you receive a payment in a currency that is different from the one indicated in your contract, PayPal gives you three options:
- Option 1: Accept all payments and convert them into the currency of the contract.
Example: convert a payment in dollars to euros.
- Option 2: Accept only the currencies you already have and add the amount to the balance in this currency. Refuse all the other payments in the currencies that you do not yet have.
- Option 3: Accept all the payments without converting the currency by adding them to an existing balance or by creating a back-up currency if needed.
Configuring your preferences:
- Sign in to your PayPal account.
- Click on your profile in the top right corner and select Account settings.
- Click Payment preferences.
- Select the line Block payments.
- Click Update.
- In the section entitled “For payments that have been send to me in a currency that is different from the main currency of my account”, enable the desired payment option from the 3 suggested options.
